Welcome to Minnesota’s Kinship Navigation Tool!
This Kinship Navigation Tool is a collaborative effort on behalf of the Kinship Working Group from AspireMN. During our work with kinship caregivers — those caring for a relative or kin’s child — we heard about the challenges they faced in finding access to clear and helpful information about their new role.
As a collective of kinship professionals, we listened to this feedback and set out with a goal to create a solution: our Kinship Navigation Tool. This tool offers free, unlimited access to information and answers to some of the most frequently asked questions for kinship caregivers.
Navigation Tools
- Kinship Terms and Definitions
- Informal Caregivers/Family Caregivers FAQs – Caregivers or legal guardians/custodians who are currently providing for kids who are NOT in foster care. This could include those who have an informal family agreement, consent decree, 3rd party custody, guardianship, or have adopted.
